    Hello everyone,

I just picked up a Pioneer DVR AO7U DVD Burner and I have a quick question. I burned my DVD just a few minutes ago and tested it. Quality seemed pretty good but sometimes I'll see pixels every now and then(that blochy look). Is this a common thing for copied DVD's? Or is the copy supposed to look exactly like the orignal DVD quality? Your help is greatly appreciated.

Did you shrink (compress) the disc before you copied it?
Or is it a straight 1:1 copy?

I'm really new at this stuff. llet me tell you what I did in the exact order.

    -Defraged the comp
    -Installed the burner
    -Installed DVD X Copy Xpress
    -Downloaded firmware 1.10
-inserted the DVD and copied it to the hard drive with DVD X Copy
-when finished copying, I inserted the blank DVD and began recording with DVD X Copy.

    That's basically what I did.

Do you suggest any other methods? Are pixels every now and then a common thing? Thanks.

I forgot to add that I was using Memorex DVD-R 4X blanks.

Should I not use DVD X Copy? For some reason I can't find a way to change burning speeds on DVD X Copy. Is there a way to do this? Thanks again.

how big is this movie you copied to your hard drive?
i am not sure how X Copy works.
i would suggest downloading DVD Decrypter and DVD Shrink then try to copy the disc again. they are both free and probably much better than X Copy.
