I've been successfully burning DVDs on my PC for quite some time. Now, all of the sudden, the DVDs won't play on my set-top player. They still play just fine on my PC, though. When I insert the disk into my set-top player, it sort of skips randomly through the disk but never actually plays anything.
(Against my better judgement) I just installed Windows Media Player 9 on my PC ... to legally download an MP3 track I badly wanted. I suspect that WMP9 (or one of its plugins that loaded without my knowledge) has corrupted something on my PC that has to do with burning DVDs. Anyone know of any troubles that WMP9 causes? Or, based on my description below, have any other ideas about what might be causing this problem? WMP9 is the only recent software or hardware change I can think of that might impact this process ...
I'm using:
* DVDDecrypter 3.2.1.0 (was using an earlier version, but upgraded to latest one to see if that caused any problems) to burn the ISO images to disk
* Sony DRU-500AX 2.0h burner
* Same blank media I've been using successfully (+R disks)
* Same exact +RW disk for "trial burns"
OS=W2k SP4. Other system info in my profile.
Any ideas?
