I have a movie... here are the specs.
originally in 3 parts, joined together now. plays just fine. no errors or
audio sync issues.
3:20:27 is its duration
AVI Xvid video stream
AC3 DD 5.1 Audio Stream
here are the methods and software I have tried to use..
tnmpgenc plus w/ ac3 plugin by itself to convert, creates the *.m2v file and *.mp2 file. both play on there own but when authered with DVD-LAB the audio will drift out of sync.
used virtualdubmod to demux the ac3, same process to create just the *.m2v file. in dvd-lab same audio sync issue.
took the ac3 into headac3h and converted to mp2 , same result.
tried a large 2gig wav extraction same result.
Im beging to think its tnmpgenc causing all my headaches.
I have followed all the guides with no luck..
on a side note... I have other "high quality avi videos" most are causing me this problem, even with out ac3 audio. MPG videos dont seem to cause this problem? likewise I have some AVI files that when processed via tnmpgenc wizard, shows it will take say 126% of a dvd-r and will not let you adjust it? but other videos will? what makes this video special that locts the bitrates?
hope someone can shed some light on these questions?

Also, do they make a program that you can load the *.m2v video segment and the *.mp2 audio segment and see both on screen at the same time, so you can "stretch" the audio back into sync? say like a program like premere or something?

Don't join them. I've never had any luck joining AC3 Audio. Just convert them sepeartely then glue them together when Authoring.

I was using DVD-LAB 1.31 and it was causing this error, upgraded to the new 1.41 beta 2 and it fixed the problem but it had a bug where it would not complete the authoring process, but the single vob file it did create was complete and in sync, so i switched to tnmpgenc dvd author and it worked great.
my only complaint is it does not give complete control over menus ect. I would like to build a template instead of just being able to manipulate one. "IE: you can not remove or add elements"
oh well its a learning experience.
---- What i use ----
i take the source video, be it AVI, DIVx, XVID, MPEG VCD ect..
Join if in multiple parts.
put it into tnmpeg plus, and use the dvd wizard to set the final size.
convert, toss it to the dvd author software .and create the menus, and layout. then from there straight to a burner.. works fine.
