The package of 10 boxes of Fuji DVD-Rs available at Best Buy have always been made in Japan in my experience. The spindles are not usually made in Japan.

I'd go to a BB and look for yourself; the person you talked to probably grabbed one spindle (whatever was closest to the phone) and assumed that's what they all were.

good point!! Let me ask you this. Is it true or not that burning at 1x is better than burning at 4x in terms of less chance of error and better compatibility? You see, I want to buy the TY discs as they are the "best" from everything I've been reading. Yet I've also heard that these specific Fuji discs made by TY are 4x - Would it still be better to go with the 4x TY than a 1x other brand?

  4. Yes, TY would be better, probably. Burning at 4x with TY shouldnt give you problems....the 1x would just be wasting your time with longer burns

  7. A couple of weeks ago Bestbuy had Fuji DVD-R 50 pack on sale for $50 after rebate.I went to the one in Sandusky,OH and they all were made in Taiwan.I then tried BB in Mansfield,OH-Taiwan as well.I've had good luck using TDK-Japan and Taiwan made.I use Ritek GO4's with good luck as well.In fact the TDK (Taiwan) are Ritek GO4's.These work great in my Panasonic and Apex players.
They won't play in a friends JVC very well,if at all.The TDK (Japan) will play just fine in all three.I've noticed the purple dye on the Japan made is much lighter.I bought some Maxell made in Japan to try in his JVC.Walmart has a 10 pack of these for $17.00.Seeya
