  5. You can actually do this on your own.

I have been 'controlling' my dreams for years.

It does have an official technical name, but I forget what it is called. It runs, all be it an off shoot, along the same lines as the fabled 'remote viewing' to a lesser extent.

I learned it while in middle school and have been doing it off and on ever since....I am 24 now for reference sake.

I usually only do it on the weekends, as I tend to sleep better when I don't do it. I don't know why that is yet. I usually fly as much as possible in my dreams, usually either in the San Juans or the warmer islands down south. Or I 'visit' with friends that I have not seen for a long time or since my childhood.

Sometimes, I dable in the select few lovin' dreams....although I keep it to an elite list....I don't know why, but it seems wrong to go all willey nilley all over the place.

It takes a while to get good at it, but with patience and practice, it becomes second nature.

  6. It's called lucid dreaming. Run a search on Google to learn more.

I haven't ever trained myself to do it, but I imaging it could be quite interesting.

In psych, we were talking about sleep and watched a video about dreaming(REM sleep). Basically, researchers hooked up some subjects to electordes and as soon as they hit the beta wave configuration, they would wake them up and the subjects would say they're dreaming. This apparently trained the patients to recognize REM sleep and most subjects learned the art of lucid dreaming in a little over a month.

The Japanese also developed a product that translates a dog barking into human language.

This sounds like a way of accelerating the process of learning how to gain lucidity. The way most people do it at home is to get into the habit of performing "reality checks". Every so often, they make a point of looking around and ensuring it is not a dream. Eventually, this habit is carried into a dream state, and the person will realise they are dreaming and achieve lucidity.

The trouble with first gaining lucidity is waking up again. Apparently, there is a loss of detail and vision in the dream as you exit. I don't know how these people avoid it, but I know it's possible - one method apparently is to fall over in your dream backwards - don't know how this works.

    It's a very interesting subject.

I remember reading about this a few years back. One important key in learning how to lucid dream is to reconize when you are dreaming. To do thih creat reality checks. One that was sugested was to take a good look at the back of your hand, turn it over and then back again. If it's changed then you are dreaming. Making a habit of performing such a check will carry over into dreams and from there you can start learning to conrtol them.

If I could do that I might not want to wake up......

.......I'm envisioning.....me, Jenna Jameson, Nikki Nova, Sky Lopez......having "fun" in a hot tub, a beer waterfall, with football games playing on 12 plasma big screens hanging around the walls....

    .....oh wait....that wouldn't be a dream....that would be heaven.
