Simple question. How do I get back to the standard appearance?

Same screen you're on now>Tools>folder options> Use classic windows folders

Thanks for the suggestion, you were right. I didn't actually mean that kind of standard view, though.
You know the one where Windows groups drives by their type? So, hard drives, network drives, optical drives, digital media and cameras under separate headings in the folder.

right click select Arrange Icons By then select both Type and Show in Groups
