Is it Possible To Rip A DVD rom Set To DVD?.

I am looking at purchasing a two disk DVD Rom Set.From what I understand you can only play them on a PC or Laptop.Is it possible to rip the DVD Rom Set to any of the DVD formats DVD-R/RW,DVD+R/RW,DVD-Ram so you can play it on a standalone DVD player?.

well, if it's video and can only be played on a pc then it prob. is in a format not supported by standalone dvd players in which case you would have to convert to a format that would be playable on a standalone player.

Thanks for the quick reply.The DVD Rom Set is the reality show Big Brother season 1 which ran for 71 episodes.It is very difficult to find season 1 because of the length.Some site in the U.K. sells the season but are on a DVD Rom Set.I would like to put them on DVD to view on a standalone player.I imagine it will take quite a few DVD's to fit it all on.Would you or anyone else know what program you would need to convert this over?.If you have to be a rocket scientist to do it I might just pass on it.

well, first off you would have to know what format the video's are in,

second, if there are that many shows on 2 dvd's they are prob. pretty compressed and might not look to good re-encoding them to dvd spec's.

But are they DL or SL ? dvd9 or dvd5.

Might have to actually get them or ask and see if they know.

even in vcd format i can only get about 15-17 "20-25 minute episodes on a dvdr and it still is only vcd quality.

I will find out what format it is on and if they are single or dual layer.If I find out I will update my thread.It might be 2-3 days before I get the info.

I found out some episodes are in avi format while others are in wmv.
