  2. So does this mean they will be using it as a way to protect the nation against terrorism or will they also be able to see what people are downloading and bust them for that.

For some reason I do not like this one bit. I mean can't we even download porn without anyone knowing anymore? I can see it now.......I will end up going to jail and have my picture in the paper because I was downloading interracial pregnant midget porn.

    Great.

  3. Sounds like the further eroding of your rights under the guise of "terrorism".

Not I saying that I like it, but that it still has to follow procedure... for now, and that many companies have already been compliant, like your DSL. It isn't going to help, any intelligent terrorist (oxymoron?) will be using encryption to protect those emails and VoIP messages.
Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they?

I know it doesn't protect your web surfing, but at least you can secure your e-mails and personal data.

This doesn't affect me because I'm British (not just now, at least) but I still secure my e-mails because I do not like "them" reading my stuff, no matter how trivial. I'm sure they can break it, but by God, I'll be as much of a pain in the arse as I can!

I don't concider this an infringment on anyones rights because "wiretaps" require a judges ok, so that does not mean they are ease dropping on the public without a court order.

However I'm not looking forward to another ISP Price Increease, furthermore I also fear that FBI requirements may also strangle future technological advances so that may stay compatable with the FBI specs.

    YUCK
Big Government is Big Business.. just without a product and at twice the price... after all if the opposite of pro is con then wouldn’t the opposite of progress be congress?
