I've read that some of the programs that convert audio to AC3, like BeSweet and that ffmpegGUI program; they sometimes don't produce 100% compatible audio. My question: if the audio isn't compatible, will that cause a DVD player not to read the DVD at all? or will it play the movie with no audio? Just curious.
    Thanks.

  2. from what I've seen it plays the movie with no audio. of course that could vary with a diffent player. I think Baldrick has been working on a fix for FFMpeg GUI. Check the latest comments on it.

  3. it will cause a standalone dvd player to crash... as soon as it tries to play the sound. i had a whole bunch of home movies i did with besweet, they all crashed on an older pioneer players. i'm redoing them now using softencode. it takes longer but it works.

i heard ffmpeg uses the same engine(?) as besweet but the encoded ac3 works better??
