Why can't I set compression ratios lower than the default in DVD Shrink 3.1?
For example, I want to compress certain tracks to 50%, but DVD Shrink has it set at 60%. Using Custom Ratio and sliding the bar all the way to the left, I can't seem to get it to go any lower.
Is there a way to override this "feature" in DVD Shrink?
Thanks.

To compress the video more you can
shrink the files of the video you want, as far as you can and then save it
open it again in dvd shrink and shrink the files again -
Hi.
This is a DVD Shrink known limitation, due to its compression algorithm. -
andyp1, how would you set the size of the output with DVD Decrypter?
-
well done ddlooping I wondered when someone would spot that !
But seriously I do apologise for that , I generally use DVD shrink but one time the shrink was too large to fit on a dvd-r and I used a prog where I could set the output size , I am going to have to check out all my software now to find out which I used I was sure it was decrypter but I just checked it out and it obviously wasn't . -
Could it be DVD2One?
-
Well, interestingly enough, that's exactly what happened....
Both DVD Shrink and DVD2ONE could not/would not compress enough to fit onto 1 DVDR, nor could I manually set the compression any lower.
This is a music video DVD and I suspect it's the LPCM audio that may ultimately be causing my issues. I'm thinking that, because it really can't be compressed and is takes so much space, there's not much room left for the video to be compressed and still fit on a DVDR. Would that be a logical conclusion here? -

However, I disagree that shrinking something down to 60% and then shrinking it again is going to produce acceptable video quality. DVD Shrink is a great program, but it's not magic. I guess everyone has a different opinion of what "acceptable quality" means.

i've never done dvd shrink on anything twice, but basing my opinion on other posts i've read. read this current forum post:
