hi i am new to this so go easy with me thanx
i wont to back up my dvds but am having trouble i have got dvd decrypter and dvd shrink please can you give me step by step instructions on how to achive this

Not trying to be an ass, but a more descriptive title of the thread will probably get you more answers. What part of the process isn't working? The ripping or the burning? Are you using Full Disk mode or reauthor? Are you compressing?

What guides have you looked at? There is no need to be sorry, you are new to forums, I understand that, BUT, no one here has a magic crystal ball, Ok maybe TGPO (forum member), but that is another story.

If you want assistance on how to do something thats great. That is why the forum is here, however, some amount of self help is needed aside from downloading a few tools and then posting a question.

Here is what I know so far:
1) you have downloaded a version of dvddecrypter and a version of DVDshrink
2) You are trying to back up your dvd's and cant

What I dont know is:
1)what kind of computer you have (I'll assume a PC and not a mac)
2)what version of dvdshrink and dvddecrypter you have (I'll assume the latest)
3) You have not read any of the guides
4) What burning software you have (depending on your version of dvdshrink, this may not be necessary)
5)what type of backup you want to do (i.e. full or movie only)
6)do you want to deal with compression or do you want true 1:1 copies

When you say you cant get it to work, what does that mean. You through the dvd into your cd drive and it doesnt work? You dont see the option for backing it up to a CD? I am trying to make some outlandish examples here to have you understand that I am not sitting in front of your computer and the only person on this website that reads minds is TGPO. Please give me some details and I (and others) will be more than happy to help you out. What pisses me (and other forum members except for TGPO) is when it is obvious that someone has not done any amount of searching or looked at ANY of the guides and asks a question that has been answered in detail a number of times on this site AND the person provides no detail of their actual problem.

Finally, dont take this personally (well, maybe a little), your question was the X number of posts I have reviewed that had the same theme. Maybe I'll cut and paste this out and put into the other ones. Welcome to the forum.
