If it's anything like trying to find a part time job over here whilst still studying you'll need it. -
I only have 1 year to go, and I hopfully will have enough time to save enough money for next semester, so I'll only need a part-time job for 1 semester of school.

I've got a good idea, I saw it in a movie once, picture this:
TGPO: Party Liason -
Sorry to hear that, man. That's a bummer, no question about it.
BTW: what are you majoring in? -

Start setting them up for the kill. Wear big oversized coats and take a HUGE lunch box to work with you everyday...

Then as you're rolling out your "PS2" tell them your work PC is in your office and this one is your personal property .......to just go check in your office if they don't believe it. And since our nuts aren't on the chopping block and yours are, if you take the advice given in this thread you're bound to end up someone's prison bitch

@Capmaster,
It could work.
It most certainly could work if he's in a secured facility. Look at LANL; talk about a finder's paradise.
"Excuse me? Does this hard drive full of classified nuclear secrets belong to anyone? I just found it sitting behind the photocopier like nobody's business. Hello?"

As to the G5, get yourself a G4 or maybe G3 and carry it with you to work. Also get a couple of screw drivers and bring them too. Then just swap the motherboard.... OK, I know the G5 wont really fit in a G4 case, but it might be close enough.
Not sure what the TV market is like where you are, but if it is more than about 2 TV stations, you shouldn't have too much of a problem finding some kind of TV related work. Knowing FCP certainly isn't going to hurt, would be better if you were good with Avid, since people still seem to think it is better.Hope is the trap the world sets for you every night when you go to sleep and the only reason you have to get up in the morning is the hope that this day, things will get better... But they never do, do they? -

If you get really good with the editing, you can make up to about $100 an hour as a freelance Avid editor. Combine the 2 jobs and make a good living, I know a person in Boston that does both and makes his living that way. If you are really seriuos about the Chyron jobs, take one of the Chryon offered training courses, they often get calls from producers looking for crew people.

Check with Jefferson Pilot and and see if they still do remotes, and try to get started with them. From there it would be all up to your own motivation. I keep more than one job at a time. Therefore, still have the other jobs. This idea works with keeping girlfriends too.

That reminds me of this song:
THE BALLAD OF THE BOBBIT HILLBILLIES
(Sung to the tune of the Beverly Hillbillies)
Come and listen to my story of a man named John.
A poor ex marine with a little fraction gone
It seems one night after gettin' with the wife,
She lopped off his schlong with the swipe of a knife.
(Penis, that is)
(Clean cut, missed his nuts)
Well, the next thing ya' know there's a Ginsu by his side
And Lorena's in the car takin' Willie for a ride.
She soon got tired of her purple-headed friend.
And tossed him out the window as she rounded a bend.
(Curve, that is)
(Pricker shrubs, wheel hubs)
She went to the cops and confessed to the attack,
And they called out the hounds just to get his weenie back
They sniffed and they barked and they pointed “over there"
To John Wayne's Henry that was wavin' in the air.
(Found, that is)
(By a fence, evidence)
Now, Peter and John couldn't stay apart too long.
So a dick doc said, "Hey, I can fix your dong!"
"A needle and a thread is all you're gonna need"
And the whole world waited ‘til they "heard that Johnny peed"
(Whizzed, that is)
(Even seam, straight stream)
Well, he heated and he hardened and he took his case to court.
With a cockeyed lawyer since his assets came up short.
They cleared her of assault and acquitted him of rape,
And his pecker was the only one they didn't show on tape.
(Video, that is)
(Unexposed, case closed) -
