  1. Hey guys, I am trying to do a gameplay vid. Basically the video goes from videocard to my DVcam in real time via S-Video, and then back to PC using firewire (1394).

I encountered a wierd problem though, Whenever I view the video on my DVcam, it is super crisp, colors are saturated, just perfect. When I connect it to my TV, it also looks fantastic. But when I transfer it to my PC it looks like ass.

Colors have no color to them, just nasty.

I tried DV type1, type2, CanopusDV, and StudioDV codecs. All were horrible. Are there any higher quality codecs? Or even better yet, uncompressed digital video? like a stream of bitmaps or something lol.

    Help me out ;p

  2. If you're recording to the DVcam, then copying the DV file to the PC using firewire, it doesn't get much better than that.

  3. tweaked around in my videocard settings, maxed color saturation, it now looks nasty on my DVcam, and on the TV, however, looks almost alright on my PC hehehe ;p

The DV footage on your PC that you transferred from your camera is an exact copy. The codec you choose is only for decoding of the footage, like when you play it back. If the footage is no good then it could be the camera, or your playback software, or your video card, or your monitor.....
