Does anyone have any experience with the Audiovox PE702 (labeled as Eddie Bauer) portable DVD? This unit is being sold at Target this week for $207. I'm considering purchasing the PE702 but I can't find any reviews about it either here or on other sites. I assume that it's relatively new.

Last week, I purchased a CyberHome CH-LDV 700B for $198. The CyberHome has received mixed reviews on various sites. What concerns me most is the unit's battery performance. It has a 2.5 hour Li-Ion battery which CyberHome recommends removing if the player is not to be used for more than one day to prevent battery drainage. Interestingly enough, none of the other portable units on CyberHome's website have the same recommendation.

Furthermore, a few people have reported that their units fail to hold a charge after only a few uses. I'm concerned that because of CyberHome's recommendation of removing the battery coupled with reports of batteries not maintaining a charge, that there is a design flaw with this player.

After a only a week's use during our vacation trip (most of the time, we used it with the auto DC adapter), the 700B seems to work fine but I have noticed that the battery does lose it's charge if unused over a very short period of time. Aside from this, it seems to be a pretty decent unit. It has progressive scan, a 7" widescreen LCD, dolby digital optical out, and comes with a carrying case that doubles as a auto mount (straps to the back of a car seat). It reportedly plays everything (including MP3's and VCD's) though I've only tried DVD+, DVD-, and store bought DVDs.

If the Audiovox PE702 is a better unit or at least doesn't share any of the possible battery issues of the CyberHome 700B, I'd rather give it a try. Any comments about either of these two players would be greatly appreciated.
