Encoding Problem

Have backed up many many of my film DVDs without any problems. Lately, however, some films will rip properly and the vobs will play ok but when trying to encode them they will not encode the first maybe 5 to 20 minutes. If I try to encode them without ripping them first some will be ok but with some a message will be displayed saying that the DeSC key is missing. Which is the best encoding prog? Any help gratefully accepted.

Could you state the name of the software you´re using currently and what are you encoding those VOB files to...?

Lately, however, some films will rip properly and the vobs will play ok but when trying to encode them they will not encode the first maybe 5 to 20 minutes. If I try to encode them without ripping them first some will be ok but with some DVDx will display a message saying that the DeSC key is missing. Any help gratefully accepted.
