Hi,
Every time I convert a 23.976 FPS DivX, to 29.7 FPS MPEG2, the audio goes out of synch.
Last night I tried re-encoding the wav file, with BSweet, to the appropriate frame rate. I also resampled to 48000 Hz. Afterwards I opened the wav in Windows Media Player and it sounded normal. The problem is when I encode the MPEG2 in TMPGenc, author my DVD, and burn it, the audio plays extremely fast. What did I do wrong here? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

When did the word "beer-drinking" become an insult anyhow? I get these letters that start out, "Why don't you and your beer-guzzling buddies go and . . ." It takes YEARS of practice to guzzle. What's so dang wrong with it?

When you encoded the file did you choose to use 2:3 pulldown? If not then thats the trouble.Load/extra/unlock and choose pulldown in the encode mode and set to 23.976 fps(internally 29.97fps).Dont re-encode the audio to 29.97,keep it at the original 23.97.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, I did use 2:3 Pulldown. I've also tried keeping the audio at 23.97 FPS, and using 2:3 Pulldown. The reason I rencoded the audio was because this doesn't seem to work for me.
I have had some degree of luck using TMPGenc's audio-gap correction, but I was hoping to find a way that didn't require so much trial and error. With the particular movie I'm working on now, it's dubbed in English from Spanish, so it's kind of hard to tell how close to being in synch the audio is by matching it up to the actors' lips.
I was just reading the BeSweet Faq on Doom9, and it recomends using the mono2stereo plugin to stop double-speed. I'm going to try that and see if it helps. When did the word "beer-drinking" become an insult anyhow? I get these letters that start out, "Why don't you and your beer-guzzling buddies go and . . ."
