    Im aware that the decoding and encoding process greatly affects quality, but is there a difference between say nero and clonedvd?

    Quality? I doubt it. Compatibility, yes. Some burning programs, with some files, with some media, with some burners can have problems with some players. Vague answer, yes. Most of us find the best combination that works best with our players. Good quality media helps the most.

  3. I have never yet had to use Nero. I currently use CloneDVD for all my writing and I have yet to have a failure. I am also using Datawrite Ice White 4x DVD-R discs, and so far so good.
