  1. Hi,

I have tried converting VHS movies to DVD. For this I record it to Mpeg. This goes fine. When I convert to DVD, the audio and video are out of synch. I have tried several progs, like Pinnacle studio 8 and Ulead DVD moviefactory 2.0
Both progs give a synch problem. I have also tried to convert with a constant bitrate. The problem has reduced, but is still there.

Why is this happening, and what can I do about it?

    Greetings,
    Elco

How did you create your source file? What kind of hardware, software, settings, etc?

  3. I recorded the mpeg via Pinnacle Studio 8. Settings DVD quality, frame 720x526. My pc is 3.0 Ghz processor, 160 Gb harddrive space, 512 MB ram.
    Need more info?

Just a few minor details. Like how your VHS source became an mpeg file on your hard drive. That would be helpful maybe.

  5. Like I said. I used the Pinnacle software, and a USB 2.0 moviebox device, which I connected via tulip plugs to my vcr and then through the moviebox via usb 2.0 to my PC.

If your captured mpeg file doesn't have the sync problem, try using a different program to author with. Which one(s) are you currently using?

  7. There are some good guides here that deal with OOS.
