I have a DVD sent to me by the people who made it in the UK. Of course, being a DVD from the UK, never released in the US, I need to convert this DVD from PAL to NTSC. I have attempted to follow several how-to's on this site as well as others. I promise, I'm not a stupid person! There just always seems to be certain steps they leave out thinking that I should already know how to do it or something. Or I run into unexpected errors not addressed in the how-to.
SO, if there is anyone out there willing to help a definite novice, yet fast learner...I would be willing to pay you to coach me through converting this DVD. I'm not rich, but your services would be greatly appreciated and so I'd be willing to send you at least enough for a nice meal in your favorite restaurant.
Basically, I want the NTSC DVD to function exactly the same as the original PAL DVD. Menus, functions...all of it. First of all, is that even something I can expect?
Thanks for your attention and thanks in advance for any help!
Matt

buy a multisystem dvd player.. if its a dvdr, it should play without a hitch. if its a region coded dvd, then you'll either have to buy a dvd player that is multisystem & hackable.. unless its a dvd5, then you can just rip it to an iso & burn it to a dvdr & it will play just fine. if its a dvd9, then rip & transcode, & burn.
i like the pioneer dv-260, its multisystem, plays all flavours of s/vcd, mp3, all flavours of dvdr, and it has navigation buttons on the dvd player itself.
if you need a hackable dvd player, take a look in the dvd player section of vcdhelp.. i'm guessing you'll be looking for a cyberhome or something like that.. although the quality of the players isnt that good. -
Sadly, there is NO method (at this time) for doing a COMPLETE conversion that doesn't involve like 1000 little time-consuming steps.

Here are two resources that tell you how to do it. You can totally forget keeping the original menu and "functionality" of the original though.

It seems harder than it is
