  1. I have a DVD-ROM and a CD drive. I also have this software called DVD Magic that is supposed to be able to burn (unprotected) DVD's to CD-R's. I tried to use it last night and had problems with the program freezing. In the program there is an option for either DivX, VCD or SVCD. Which one should I choose?

Also, I have a (stand alone) DVD burner. Is there an easier way for me to copy DVD's?

    either DivX, VCD or SVCD
DivX for computer viewing, VCD or SVCD for DVD player viewing. Take a look under Convert for guides on DVD to these formats.

If your interested in backin up DVD's you really should invest in a DVD burner for your computer. Their under $100.00 now. A standalone is going to have probelms because of the anti-copy encoded on the disks. A computer ripping program removes these and makes DVD back up much easier.
