Hallo !
I have a slight problem - My PS2 won't read DVDs with a blue back(Well, not exactly blue. more like a purplish color).
I already lost Tekken 4 and Disgaea DVDs because they got scratched.. But now I purchased a DVD burner and want to backup some of the games I have.
The problem is, all of the DVDs I could find around here(Israel) are with a blue back, and my PS2 won't read them for some strange reason. I have tried Fortis DVD+R and DVD-R, and both didn't work. Same with some other DVDs that have no label. But all of those are blue(purplish)-backed DVDs.
So, my questions are :
What companies sell DVD-R or DVD+R that don't have a blue(purplish) back ?
Does the color even matter ? Maybe those are just poor quality DVDs. What companies make high quality console(PS2)-compatable DVDs ?
Any other ideas ? Tips ?
Thanks !
PS I already tried getting the PS2 fixed. The repair place said there isn't anything they can do.

Take a look over in the l/h column this page and click on DVD Media -
Then do a listing by "views/popularity" ... should give you some good leads for checking on local availability.
