I ripped Gladiator using DVD shrink (no extras just the movie) and I played it side by side with the original and it easy to tell the copy because of the darkness of the copy compared to the original. Is this normal or is there something I can change?

UPDATE: I just did another copy of Gladiator using Maxell DVD-R because the Verbatim wouldnt play in my portable DVD player. IT LOOKS GREAT! The DVD-R looks BETTER than the DVD! I KNOW, i can't believe it myself but I double checked. WOW! Must have just been a media issue as im learning is the root of SO many problems.
