  1. I have been backing up DVD's to DVD+RW's for a couple of years now.
    I am running a P4 1.6 Ghz
    W/ Windows XP
Using DVD Decrypter/DVD Shrink/IMG Tools to make my back-ups.
Never had a problem until now.

I have a Region 3 copy of Battle Royale II
It has 2 audio tracks, Japanese DTS and Japanese AC3 5.1
It has 3 subtitle tracks, Chinese, English, and Chinese Simplified.

DVD Decrypter gets rid of region code, no problems there
DVDShrink gets rid of DTS sound, don't need it
I kept all subtitle files, they are small anyway.

When I compress W/ DVDSHRINK, and burn to a DVD+RW,
I can play back the video w/ sound onj my Sony Set-top, but there are no subtitles.
If I play the files from my hard drive or from the disk in my DVD+RWdrive, subtitles are there.

    What am I doing wrong?

I tried to keep both audio files and all subtitle W/ menus, but get the same results
my burner is a sony DVD+RW classic model
but if the subtitles read onthe computer files, and the disk in the computer
i don't think this is the problem.

In addition, my son's Disney DVD player bring up the Chinese subtitles
but not the English or Chinese Simplified

    Please Help

  2. You are not alone. I have run into the same problem. I used shrink which stripped the region code but gives me no sub titles. I've tried shrinking the whole disc and then have reauthored it without the dts track. I then play it on a Toshiba 3900 and there are no subtitles. It's funny because when I scroll threw the subtitle options the player realized that sub 2 is English, but does not display them on the screen. I haven't tried it on the computer so I'm not sure if the subtitles work there.

I've searched every forum and have found no answers....let's hope someone comes up with something here!
