  1. Hi,

so.. What's a good .avi codec for video editing?
my final output is gonna be dvd highest quality possible,
(i heard is bad to edit with mpeg2),
(i'm gonna use adobe premiere for video editing,
just add a few fades and transitions).

    Please help.

I'm kinda partial to the PicVideo MJPEG codec set to about 18 or 19 myself. That or the Huffyuv lossless codec If I'm not concerned about disk space.

Ditto, I used nothing but that prior to getting the ADVC-100.

  4. PicVideo is well worth the cash if you want to edit full-size digital video (720x480 30fps or 720x576 25fps) and you don't have super-fast SCSI hard drives and a few hundred gigabytes of space laying around.

    (I use Q19 myself...)

720x480 30fps will require between 2.5 and 3.5 Mb/sec for your captures (including 48kHz audio).
