  1. I've got 2 svcd's (4 seperate .mpg files) totaling 3gb.
I want to make a dvd that has a menu to choose which movie to watch, and to choose each chapter to watch.
what is the easiest way to do this?
I have iDVD 4-wont let me import the files.-unsupported file error
I have DVDSP2-wont let me import the files.-unsupported file error
I have Sizzle-works great until I try to create a disc image, then it crashes.
I have CaptyDVD-crashes, I cant even import a file or anything.
Do I have to convert the .mpg's in order for iDVD and DVDSP to recognize them?

    please help me!
    thanks

MPEG2 Works comes with an application called ExporttoDV which converts MPEGs, VOBs, ReplayTV & REC to DV. Once you've converted to DV you can use FinalCut Express to reassemble your video, then use DVDSP to create your DVD.

Toast 6 also exports to DV. There probably are others.

    don't know idvd.

but since you say they are svcd files, i'll assume they are 480x480, right? if so dsp can't accept those, it won't do 480 for horizontal, it can 352x480 though. but ideally you don't want to convert to try to keep the highest quality.

this tool above or ffmpegx should be able to join 2 svcd files together.

if you want a menu from what i know of sizzle i think it'll be your're best bet, but maybe someone more familiar with it can give you info on the crashes.
