well, for a lot of people, the divxs they download are taken from old vhs tapes, tv broadcasts, out of print material, etc. so they have no way to actually BUY the material.Originally Posted by canadateck

you lose quality, sure, but you get to listen to / watch the material in the comfort of your sofa, and not sat at a little computer screen. that alone is a reason i prefer to watch my dvds on my tv, and not my computer screen. it just feels much more like an "experience" that way.
