I understand Going from DVD to Divx to watch on Cd or the computer to save space, but going Back to DVD??
well, for a lot of people, the divxs they download are taken from old vhs tapes, tv broadcasts, out of print material, etc. so they have no way to actually BUY the material.

then, downloading a divx and converting to DVD is just the same as downloading mp3s and burning them as audio CD.

you lose quality, sure, but you get to listen to / watch the material in the comfort of your sofa, and not sat at a little computer screen. that alone is a reason i prefer to watch my dvds on my tv, and not my computer screen. it just feels much more like an "experience" that way.

    that's what i think anyway..

Let's be honest most people who download DIVX movies are downloading pirated first run movies not yet on DVD or porno.

canadateck, just turn on your Will Hay Filter. It's in the forum settings somewhere.

To answer your question, I'd say because that's the only format they have (think downloads).
