I have got a ASUS DRW-0402P/D and trying to backup some DVD movies using DVD Shrink and Nero 6 and datawrite media. Once DVD shrink has run through its preparing the files and it asks to insert a blank DVD for burning it displays a ATA/ATAPI timeout error. I don't understand why this is happening, I have flashed the DVD writer with the flash update off the ASUS website. I have also installed the ASPI drivers for windows XP. I have also tried to change the the secondary IDE channel to PIO instead of DMA but it didn't make any difference. I have managed to burn a data DVD ok in nero but I can't managed to backup an DVD, can anyone help me?
