  1. Hey there everyone. Well all that talk about curry and bhuna got me excited. Every now and then I like to cook new things. Same old meals get old.

    Anyways, I am going to go to the store and was wondering if anyone had some favorite recipes and what not. I got that Chicken Bhuna recipe that will was talking about........just hope I can find all of the ingrediants. Ingrediants like Ground Coriander, Tumeric, and garam masala. Even coriander leaves......and with the green chilies I'm wondering if it should be fresh green chilies or ones in the can?

    Anyways, does anyone else have a favorite dish? I want to get as many new things as I can.......I could always get a cookbook but I like to hear peoples favorites.

    Thanks

    Hatz

    Well, I'm indian so if you want recipies, I could always ask my mom. Plus, my family owns a couple of indian restearurants and they have good food. My favorite thing to eat, chicken curry and dal makhani w/ garlic naan.

    Hatz,
    The best recipe ever:

    1.Take one can of lager and pour into a cool smooth glass(very important not to stir) and allow to settle,
    2.once settled take the first gulp followed by another, you should be aiming for around 9 to 10 gulps per glass,
    3.once empty repeat the process in step 1 and gently lift the receiver of the telephone dialing your local curry house, taking care not to accidentaly dial the wrong number.
    4. when connected, ask the nice gentleman on the other end if he would mind delivering one of his lovely dishes to your house for a set fee.
    5.if all goes well and you have agreed on a price then settle down in front of the television, relax and repeat step2.
    6.you can repeat steps 1 & 2 right up until the doorbell rings.
    7. once the doorbell has rung and you have answered said door and exchanged cash/cheque/lottery ticket for the fine delicacy, you may once again settle down infront of the television with dish in lap taking lots of care not to spill a drop on any surrounding furniture or carpet - not because it will stain or anything but because you don't want to waste any of this beautiful grub. :P

  15. LOL Curryman. The weird thing is.......I did follow your guide last night. Except I was at a bar and there was no food involved.......so mostly just step 2.

    I am feeling it now.

    As for Devanshu, your favorite meal sounds good. I am going to have to look up a recipe on the internet for that. Thanks for the suggestion. I will let you know how it turns out.........or if it doesn't at all.

  22. maybe we should make an acronym post......hehehe.

    ROTFLMAO = Rolling on the floor laughing my ass off
    LOL = Laugh out Loud
    WTF = What The F&$k
    IMO= In My Opinion
    IMHO = In My Honest Opinion
    WYSIWYG = What you see is what you get.
    STFU = Shut the f&$k up.

    and finally the one that we should say to most every new person that posts on here:

    RTFM = READ THE F&$KING MANUAL.

    Anyone else got any lame acronyms?

    IMHO is "In My Humble Opinion".

    SNAFU, Situation Normal, All F'd Up.

    TWAIN, Technology Without An Interesting Name.

    TANSTAAFL? We got another Heinlein fan here? Started reading him 50+ years ago. None of the "newbies" can hold a candle to him or the others of his era. Mebbe L. Ron Hubbard, but that's about it.

    Cheers,

    George

    Devanshu, no, it's "ain't". They were hundreds of years in the future, and, even now, "ain't" IS in the dictionary.
