  1. I've got no audio (.VOB files) using Vobrator on Windows XP. Anyone have this problem and how did you solve it? I've tried making it compatible with windows 95/98 etc. but that was just a stab in the dark and no luck.

  2. I use VOBrator and XP Pro with no trouble at all. The .VOB files aren't audio files, the extension stands for Video OBject.

Once you have ripped the DVD, make sure you have VBOrator pointing at the right list of files, by default it should show you the whole list once you click on the first one in the batch.

VOBRator doesn't play audio... Just video. Count your blessings that it works at all under WinXP.

  4. Well my name says it all, reallynewbie but I'm pretty sure I've done everything correct. When I open&scan a particular .VOB file I can see all the appropriate info. I hit collapse then click on the file I want to check out (ie VOB (id=4)). Once I play I get video but no audio.

You are doing it correctly, after you make note of the ones you want to remove from your newly authored DVD, use IFOedit to remove the VOB's you don't want to see any more.

When using IFOedit, just choose the VOB you don't want, and hit DELETE PLAYBACK for each one. After you are finished hit SAVE ... and then hit it again to save the files as .BUP that's all there is to it! Then burn your new compilation using the burning program of your choice.

You should be able to SEE the VOB ID'S that you don't want in the STREAMS pane in VOBrator; they actually 'play' just like they would on a DVD player. If you aren't getting any images at all from ANY VOB then you might want to try this:

Find the VOBrator .exe file and right click on it, then choose PROPERTIES from the list of choices, try changing the COMPATIBILITY to 256 COLORS. It has worked for some people it may work for you, personally I have had no issues with XP and VOBrator, but many others have. Let me know of your success or failures.

  8. I tried it changing pretty much every combination of compatibility options with no luck. I've got video fine, just no audio.
