DVD Locks Up PC and Standalone

I am trying to learn the ropes of backing up my DVD's, and seem to be running into some problems. I grabbed my Bruce Almighty DVD for testing purposes and used DVD Shrink to decrypt and shrink it to fit onto a DVD-RW. I then used Easy DVD Creator to burn. This disc locked up both my standalone player and my PC. I have made some home movie DVD's that work fine, so it seems to just be the movie DVD's. Is there something obvious I'm overlooking here?

Ok, tried again last night using this method:

DVD Decrypter
DVD Shrink
Roxio to Burn

Standalone player gave a disc error. Loaded up the VOB files on the PC and they played fine. I also used Lilo & Stitch instead of Bruce Almighty. It appears that the problem is in the burning process, but I can't find it. Again, I know that DVD-RW will play in my standalone since my home movies work fine. Any suggestions?

The RW is Fuji and my DVD-R is TDK. Again, the DVD-RW with home movies burnt with DVD Builder (Roxio) works fine in my standalone (haven't tried the DVD-R in the standalone yet since I've been using the RW for testing purposes). It's just the commercial DVD's that I'm having a problem with. I've since talked with a few people and I'm going to try Nero 5.5 to burn tonight and see if that corrects my problem.
