i have a ? i have a memorex dual format dvd burner i was wonder what was the best type of disk to use the -r or +r cause i see some on the fourms use + and some use - is there any ral difference all i will be doing is playing the movies on a standalone dvd player that iam about to buy

find which plays in your dvd player, it may play both.
there is no "real" advantage to using either +R or -R. -R is more compatible, but aside from that there isnt much.
the most important thing you must consider is using quality media
ritek
verbatim (non-CMC)
apple
tdk
there are other good one's out there, but those are a few to look for. -
That depends on the target player and how compatible it is with the media you intend to use.
The difference between - and + R has been covered many, many times here (use the search function for starters) so I won't go into it here (one is marginally more compatible with DVD players and has a tiny bit more capacity but I'll let you find out which !), and there is a list of players to the left which may help you out too. -
-r are cheaper, go with riteks if your player supports them.
