Hi, the buffer underrun in Nero when I'm burning a DVD fluctauates continuously between 10% and 90%, ocaasionally crashing the program.

What could be the main causes of this?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Cheers

Make sure your burner is set to udma, look in control panel/system/device manager/IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers and see if is set to pio,if it is then change to udma and reboot,if that doesnt work then uninstall the affected ide channel and reboot again.

    Try Nero Info Tool http://www.nero.com/en/631940826989307.html
It will tell you quite a bit of information about your drives, including DMA status. Other things that can cause buffer underrun: Bad memory chips, fragmented drive, programs like screensavers, etc., running in the background.

  4. if above good suggestions don't remedy problem, then defrag your hard drive, close any un-needed background tasks/apps and avoid multitasking while burning. Use rw disks to avoid coasters.

    oops!
