Hi!
I just managed to crash my Pioneer DVR-5100H. I hit "DISPLAY" on the remote control while I was copying a movie from harddisk to DVD-RW (in real time since I had to reduce the bitrate) and suddenly everything halted. A few seconds later the display said "POWER ON" and the recorder rebooted, but of course I had to start the recording process all over again.
Has anybody else had similar experiences?

Hi!
It is repeatable, but it only happens if you select "optimized" recording mode. If you manually choose a reduced recording quality, everything works fine, the OSD appears as it should. In the first case, the OSD "window" opens up but it is someshow screwed up.
I believe it is a software bug. -
Pioneer has already released a fix for the 3100 regarding another problem :

Maybe a new firmware for the 5100 is expected to be released soon !
