I purchased 50 Fuji DVD-Rs from a guy off Ebay. Anyway, the disks have some sort of residue on the outer edge of the disk - it's hard to explain, but it looks like something a sticker was on and then peeled off. However, I can't wipe it off with a damp rag, so it must be engrained into the disk.
I've burnt 2 using Nero, and towards the end of the movie, frames start to freeze and I can't rewind or FF. The guy won't give me a refund, so I'm wondering if anything can be done or used to clean the disks to like new.
thanks for your time.

If it is sticky like leftover glue, try some warm water and
dish washing liquid. I have done this after de-labeling many dvd's.
The glue left on by the lable dissolves with the dish washing liquid.
Try one and see. It certainly won't hurt anything.

no, that didn't work. it is still there.
and when I play the disk in the DVD player, it works ok until I get to the end. pixels freeze and at the very end my dvd player froze - wouldn't even shut off. I had to unplug it.

I've used WD40 on DVD's that had the stick on lables on that were coming off. The WD40 took the lable off and the glue. After that I used warm water and dish soap, pat dry with soft cloth.
Try with one and see if it works. Worked for me.
PS. I flame the ebay seller via the ebay feedback. I'm sure he knew he was selling a defective product. Also see if you can do something on ebay safe harbor.Geronimo -
that didn't work either. I don't think that this is actual "stickiness", it just looks like it. the disks are defective.
I'm going to check with Fuji too to see if they can do anything for me.
