  1. I've been reading over the site, searching reviews and the more I search, the more confused I'm getting about things. So I guess I'll just ask directly and see if anyone has solid answers.

I'm needing to purchase a Portable DVD player that will also play MP3s off of DVD-Rs. The price range that I'm looking at has to be around $250. I'd like something with a decent battery life and a bright LCD screen. Also the unit itself must be sturdy enough to handle constant travelling & use(a good case would be a plus).

I found that some people recommended the Cyberhome 707B player, but I can't seem to find it in-stock online and I haven't been able to locate it after checking more than 50 retail Wal-Mart & RadioShack stores. I'm not even sure if this player is the best to get for the criteria I need to meet.

Additionally, I recently read some downsides to running MP3s off of a DVD-R. Something to do with ID tags and not being able to seperate the songs by album. Could someone explain that more clearly and is it even a problem with the type of unit I'm looking for or is that more of a home unit limitation?

So, if anyone knows of a player model that will do all of these things for around $250, please direct me to a website where I might be able to order it and post your experiences. Your help is greatly appreciated.

Have you looked at COMPUSA.COM, CIRCUIT CITY.COM, BESTBUY.COM? They got lots of different models of portable dvd players. I got mine from WALMART.COM. One of the very first portable dvd players INITIAL 9510 model w/ a little itty bitty 4 lcd screen.
Try looking at the left of this website under DVD PLAYERS. You may find some information you're looking for.
