When you use DVD-RW or DVD+RW is there any need to format this disk in anyway before burning DVD? Or can you simply use it as computer hard disk and Burn and then delete if required?[/b]

your burning program will do a quick format (about 30 seconds with Nero 5.5.10.42) of the dvdrw and then proceed with the burn. use your same prog to erase the rw.

DVD+RW format does NOT require any erasing/formatting
