  1. I have downloaded a ton of music videos of AC/DC, KISS, etc. Most are in MPG format, but a few are AVI and one or two in DIVX. I want to put these onto DVDs so I can watch them on my TV and hear them through my home theater system. I have Ulead VideoStudio SE 6.2 and NERO Ultra 6.0.0.??? (whatever the latest version is up to). I also have some of the freeware and shareware listed on this site.

How can I get these various videos coverted to MPEG2 if they aren't already and then get all of these videos, along with those that downloaded in MPEG format, burned onto DVD so I can watch them on TV using my Sony stand-alone player? If anyone is going to suggest anything regarding the use of .vob files, etc. please be as detailed as possible. I tried to do that with a recent project I made using a guide from this website and the resulting video would only play on this cheap Apex DVD player in our bedroom and not the expensive Sony in our den (All I got was a message on the Sony opening screen telling me that the video was not in a compliant format). I also want to be sure that the sound quality I enjoy while watching these videos on my PC isn't lost when I play them through my home theater system.

Thanks in advance for any help.

does not give us much help in trying to determine your best course of actions. We dont know if You authored correctly or if your so called CHEAPO plays raw mpegs while the sony wont. try giving the models and we can go from there.

Unfortunatley the DVD-Video standard requires thos .vob files etc. They are easily created using one of many DVD authoring programs now available.

Basically what you need to do is convert your files to DVD compliant mpeg. To see what is DVD compliant look here . To convert any files that are not dvd compliant look Here . The learn how to author a DVD look here.

An alternative location for info on all of the above can be found here

Find guides that look appropriate and try them. Always test/check as much as possible before commiting to a burn. Practice with short clips to save time until you have your method worked out. When you run into problems come back here and ask specific questions giving as much detail about your source material and process so far as you can.

encode you videos as vcd standard mpeg 1, then use tmpgenc dvd author
and add files. it will automatically change the audio to 48khz. you can fit over 100 music videos on one dvd this way and have a menu for each song.

Have done this(oddly with the same groups Kiss Acdc ect )
just convert them to mpge with TMPGE make sure you set them to the same format pal or ntsc same frame rate ect then use TMPGEDVD and add new track for each of your videos then in create menue goto display menu setting and in the genral tab tick only main menu(this way only the movie will play when you click play or the number on the remote and it dosn't goto chapter select)

Ive made a couple of rock vids like this and they work on any stand alone I have put them in(plus my PC)

Good Luck mate hope this helps.
