alright i just reloaded windows from scratch
I have NOT loaded any other software yet, nero is the first thing I loaded
win xp pro
nero version 6.3.0.2
when to make any kind of cd or dvd with nero i get this message
"the disc is blank or invalid, please insert original disc"
then below on the left it says
required source disc type: cd-r/rw
disc type in source drive: empty
anyone seen this. Obviously the message changes when I try certain things with nero, but this particular time I was trying to burn an audio cd. I've tried burning dvd image, dvd video, etc
I get the same message
I've tried different types of media and same thing. I doubt its the media because I can use any other program and it works fine like Roxio, copy to dvd, etc.
my recorder is NEC DVD+RW ND5100A, but I should note I get this on my other pc as well, so maybe its the version of nero I have or something like that, who knows. Just looking for any suggestions.
ONLY NERO IS DOING THIS. ANYONE?
thanks in advance

Nero is a burning program,if you haven't loaded any other programs what are you trying to burn? If your tying to copy a disk are you using the disk copy template? Have you selected CD or DVD master template?

I get this message when selecting ANYTHING, even an audio cd. Basically NERO will not let me burn anything and I get the message EVERY single time.

what happens when you click 'Disk Properties'?
Also, are you sure you don't have it configged to get the source from the drive and have a blank disc in the drive?
