  1. Hi,
    are there any tools to check the media id on dvd-r blanks like on the pc for the mac? would help to identify the media I test for a pioneer 105.

  2. I do not know of such a program, but I have the same DVD-R. I had success with some DVDs, but not with others. I found that Ritek work well and they are cheap. For the best compatability with SA DVD players, the Samsung are about the best you can get, esp. for the price.

    A good spot to by media is meritline.com and they list all the media that works with the 105.

  3. I use Ritek (1X) DVD-R. I have a old promo code that http://www.atdiscount.com/ still honors. If you place an order for the (1X) Ritek DVD-R's on a 100 spindle and enter in this promo code #00231 as you proceed to order it will change you price to $0.84 a disc. I guess it's a good idea to keep old promo codes. Check it out I haven't seen a better price on Ritek media in a while.

    I think Missing Media Burner gives some feedback in the terminal with specific disk information.

    actually, it doesnt work on VPC
    something about not fully supporting the DVD function of the drive
    probably with new VPC it will but thats not for a while...
