On my desktop computer A, I converted WMA files taken from several CDs to MP3. I subsequently assembled the MP3 files into a playlist. Using NERO, I copied that MP3 playlist to a CD-R that plays on my DVD player and portable MP3 player. I would like to load the MP3 files on the CD-R into my portable computer B using WMP. The CD will run OK on computer B, but when I select "Copy from CD" I get a blank listing. If I look under "Now Playing" it shows "No disc in drive E". Yet, there is a CD in Drive E, the one I created.
I can copy all the MP3 files from the CD-R into a folder on computer B using Windows Explorer, but I can't make a playlist on WMP. All I can do is play the songs one by one by selecting each one in turn from the folder.
Is it possible to copy the MP3 CD into computer B using WMP? If so, how?

This is a data disk, not a music CD. There is a difference. ok.Originally Posted by golferwalt
Using "Copy from CD" is telling WMP to look for a music CD, since you have a 'data cd' it's not going to fly. That command will work with a valid music CD. For data you will need to copy the music to your hard disk drive to get it onto your computer, or just play the mp3s off the cd by selecting all the songs (highlight all) using WMPs File Open command.I would like to load the MP3 files on the CD-R into my portable computer B using WMP. You have several options for opening all the songs in WMP. Use Windows Explorer view the music folder, highlight all the mp3 files, right click on the highlighted section and choose "Play". If WMP is your default player they will all load into the playlist. If WMP is not your default player in WMP click "Tools" "Options" "File Type" "Select All" then "Apply". You can also use WMP "File" "Open" then drag over all your music files and click 'Open'.I can copy all the MP3 files from the CD-R into a folder on computer B using Windows Explorer, but I can't make a playlist on WMP. Once files are in WMP you can burn them to a CD, but WMP will not burn a Data disk, it will convert those MP3s and burn a music CD.
Yes, open all the files you want to copy using WMPs "File" "Open" command or drag and drop from Explorer. Select a song and click "File" "Save as" and save the song to your HDD. It will not covert the file, only copy it to your hdd.Is it possible to copy the MP3 CD into computer B using WMP? If so, how?
Hard to explain, easy to do.
Good luck.
