  1. The new Snapz Pro X 2.0 allows fast video capture of whatever is playing on your desktop. This allows capture into Quicktime of Windows Media and Real Player formats that previously could not be transcoded but only played on stand-alone players.

Just thought you'd appreciate knowing about a potentially useful tool.

If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

  4. It can be seen on versiontracker here: http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/11530 and is a free upgrade to anyone with v.1.4 and has a discount price for anyone upgrading from 1.0 (the bundled version) I've tried it and it captured a wmv at 29.97 fps at millions of colors into a Motion JPEG A Quicktime movie. Works great. The video capture component is a costly add-on, but like I said, it does something I haven't seen elsewhere.

  8. twosour,
go into your System Preferences>Login Items select snapz pro and hit remove. Then invoke Snapz Pro with command-shift-3 and press command-q to quit. Drag the installation into the trash and install v.2.0.

I've been pushing this program for a year as a way to convert real media files to quicktime. It just can't be beat. Not even with a stick!
