Interesting problem last night - backing up a new movie DVDDecypter (and DVD Shrink) found an error in the 3rd VOB of the main movie and could not copy. I then checked the decrypter 'skip errors' option and copied the slightely truncated file (slightely less bytes than the original).
Unfortunately, DVD shrink will fail during analysis showing an error condition. I guess this must be due ot VOB pointers and other information pointing to an invalid or moved LBA address.
I would like in some way to overcome this - anyone have any suggestions?
BTW - seems like an interesting way to copy protect movies by pressing a disc with a faulty VOB. The player will play with only the slighest, brief corruption from the original, but my DVD ROM and PC require the file to match the information it provides and hence fail.
Any ideas? Chris
