  1. I have been using Dvd Decryptor and Elby's Clone Dvd with much success. Only negitive thing is, it takes me about 2 1/2 hours to copy and burn.
Been hearing alot of goods things about DvdShrink but my question is:
Do you have to use another pgm like Decryptor first? Or will DvdShrink do it all?
    Thanks for any feedback

  3. Thanks for the info. I read the following from another thread. Can you explain why he has so many steps envolved when using Dvd Shrink?

Why would you do this process, what are you trying to do? lots of movies (movie only files) are too large to fit on a dvdr. rip with dvd decrypter, run files through shrink, use img tools to burn video_ts folder to iso, burn iso with dvd decrypter. [/b]

  4. you don't have to do all that. dvd shrink will do all of it. all i do it put in the dvd, open it with dvd shrink, pick what i want or don't want or click "reauthor" to burn just the movie only, then click "backup".

shrink will rip, compress, encode, and if you have nero installed, it will even burn it for you using the nero software.

  5. one more thing though... i have run across some DVDs that dvd shrink couldn't rip, for some reason or another. maybe a weird type of encryption or something. in those cases i use dvddecrypter to rip it first and then do everything else with dvd shrink.

Historically I've always used DVD Decrypter and DVD2One. I'll prolly continue to use that occasionally, but this new shrink has my attention for now.

I must admit that even tho I don't quite grasp how to use all the functions of DVD Shrink just yet (I just don't have the time to read the guides at the moment), the fact that I can put the source disc in my ROM, a blank disc in my burner, push the start button and have it all done in 45min to an hour is extremely handy. Tiz a truly one step, single button process from rip to burn.

I did a full disc copy of Open Range yesterday with no glitches or other problems in about 55 minutes. I like this new shrink.

Occasionally DVD Shrink will encounter a DVD it can't rip. For those instances, I have DVD Decrypter available. It can't get any easier than Shrink.

  7. I suspect that the reason to use DVD Decrypter first may be because it can be set to remove restrictions set by the author.

I like to be able to leave it all but jump to the Menu if desired.

    Cheers
