  1. I am about to purchase the above application, and I would like to make sure it really does a couple of things..........

    1) Assuming that I am importing an MPEG2 file, I can really perform simple cuts and edits?
    2) This application will burn to a DVD?

    Thanks in advance,
    Allen

    Works like a charm

I have been trying to edit commercials from my MPEG2 captures for about a year now and nothing seemed to work without giving video/audio synch issues.

I tried TMPG Author and it worked perfectly and even burned to a DVD-RW for me.

    Highly recommend.

I am just starting to get used to it myself so I can't offer too much right now but so far it seems to be working great.

There is a minor editing limitation. It will only cut on GOP boundaries,
which are usually about 1/2 second apart.

  6. FOO,

Oh....well for what I am doing, I don't think that is a significant limitation.
Is there a tutorial or a how-to for editing?

    Thanks,
    Allen

I use it for deleting commercials , or start/end credits.
It's obvious. No need for a tutorial
Get the demo and play with it.

  8. TMPGEnc DVD Author is great program and I think you will like it. You can try the trial version to see if it will do what you want. To cut sections you don't want after you load your file; go to the chapter menu and select a start point and a end point then select cut.
