Although the graphics card I have is a ATI 9600 Pro, I like the 9800 Pro screen saver.

I have screensavers on all computers and I don't use it.

I prefer a black screen after 10 mins of inactivity. This saves power doing this as screensavers do work on the computer.

  6. Mine's the standard Windows XP one. Then after 10 minutes it turns the monitor off and after 15 minutes it automatically logs me out.

Just joking my friend, it is a really cool screen saver. Too bad they were not smart to make it available for PC also.

Sort of the same for me...I have mine disabled/set to none

But I have used some once in every great while.

My favorites are ones I created myself 8)

Have seen a few that are cool, but I don't really have a reason to use them...as for the most part, it always seems they pop up at times when I don't want them on

  16. I heard that you shouldn't turn the monitor off when the PC is on. Apparently, it sends a bit of a power spike into your machine. Not sure if this is true or not.

I use a TFT, so it can't burn. :P I like the nVidia Orb screensaver though.

I do find turning the monitor off while the PC is on do tend to muck up the display resolution settings. This is especially the case on an old Win98 PC.

The funny thing about it, this happened a short time ago when the display settings become faulty. The resolution was at 640x480 instead of 800x600. This as annoying indeed.

I have to restart the computer to fix the fault and restored back to 800x600.
