  2. You need to extract the mpeg file from the bin and split that. Mount the bin as a virtual drive using daemon tools and extract the mpeg. If this is a vcd then it will be a dat file use vcd gear to convert the dat file to mpeg. Just out of interest how big is the bin, and have you tried to burn it.

If it's an S/VCD then it will, 80 min CD's will hold 800 MB as a VCD.

A 700 mb CDr can hold a 760MB bin file. You see, a bin file isn't really a file, it's more like instructions on how to write a file to a CD (yeah, I know it's a kinda confusing explanation). Because of this, when you burn the bin file, the resulting files will often be less than the bin file's size.

To recap: you can do it.

Sort of, but not necessarily. here is what is actually going on. An STANDARD ISO is like what you said, instrucitons of how to build the cd image. However, vcd and SVCD burn in a mode2/raw format; they use the data that is normally used for error correctiona nd whatnjot from a regular cd, for video data instead. a 700 MB cd has ~ 100 mb reserved for error correction, so you don't see this 100 MB as available space. Mpeg has its own builtin error correction in the stream so a file with small damages can still play fine, therefore it was a great idea they invented (s)vcd in this way because we then get an extra 100 MB per cd to work with. This is the reason why vcd's have more playback problems when burned too fast, and ordinary data burns without issues burned at the same speed; this compounds itself when it's crappy burners/media.

Thats why I asked, because if it is an image of a VCD or SVCD then you can fit upto 800MB on a 700 MB CDR.

I got the Daemon Tools and mounted it, but i dont know what to do next...
Craig, can you show me how to extract the bin to become mpeg?

  11. If its a vcd you should have a AVSEQ01.dat file inside a folder called mpegav. Use vcd gear to convert this dat file to an mpeg file.

Follow the first bit of this guide for how to use vcd gear to extract the mpeg.

By the way did you try burning the bin.
