  1. I would like to store/nback-up a lot more DVDs onto a hard drive. I need to get an external one because I'm using an IMac and the hard drive is only 80GB and it gets full so quickly. Can anyone recommend a good reliable hard drive that holds between 100-200GB?

Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I believe you meant to indicate this drive to the original poster.

Try and fill THAT up. And, if you do, I have some other suggestions.

Seriously though, I second the LaCie HD. I've had two LaCie CD Burners and one HD, and nothing wrong with any of them yet. (Except the first CD burner, its a SCSI 4x burner, and thats just wrong.
If it isn't broken, take it apart and find out why.

Well, if you can fill up an 80GB that fast, a 200GB will go in twice the time, so I suggest the better options. But yes, a 120ish LaCie would be what he ASKED for, however, you already took care of that part.

  5. Ok - cheers!!!

160 GB will do - I think I'll go for:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0000C5RQY/qid=1075567774/sr=1-10/ref=sr_1_11...596519-3940424

    (what do you think?)

But I'll look for something cheaper. Anyone got any recommendations where I can buy this cheap (in the UK) online?

  6. I recently built a firewire drive from a Western Digital IDE 200G drive that was $100 after rebates, and a $40 external firewire/USB2 case. That's $140 total cost (includes all the cables0 and maybe twenty minutes of labor screwing the drive into the case. The drives are still on sale for this price, check Dealmac.com. Recently officeMax had 80G drives for $20! But I didn't notice the add until it was sold out.

DealMac has an e-mail option; they will send you a list everyday at 3 pm of the best prices on everything from hardware to software.
