I just installed Turbo Tax Deluxe 2003 on my PC. When I run the installation for my State copy, the program says "Setup could not find any federal tax products on your system..." and then it closes without installing the State copy. I installed the federal version to C:\ and verified that it runs, so I can't imagine why it can't see it.

Anyone have this happen to them??

thats because you have to DOWNLOAD the state. You should have a certificate good for one free state download.

then it will find the appropriate files

    make since?!

I have installed federal and downloaded state.
When I try to install state, it says that it can't find a copy of federal on my PC, and needs federal in order for state to work properly. Then the state installation exits without installing. Federal is there, so I can't figre out why the state installation it can't find it.

Yes, there is, but they are terrible. I think I may have found the problem, and if so, it was just a big goof on my part. Looking at the properties for the files in the State folder, they are all December 2000!! I bet I opened the wrong folder on my hard drive and was trying to install the 2000 State copy! Oops! I'll try again tonight.
