  1. I am having troubles with burning, I am running nero 6 demo and for some reason it won't burn properly. I was told to get the new firmware. I went to the Pioneer website and I tried to download an update of the firmware. When I try to install it says available target is not found. I found this out about my burner:

    PIONEER DVD-RW DVR-104
    Current Revision : 1.10
    Release Date : 02/01/23
Model : Not pioneer model. (OEM products)

This firmware is not the latest version.
The firmware needs to be updated.

Does anyone know what I can do.......OR could you give me a link for the right download?????

    Anyone???????????????

  3. Try the following URL you can download a tool to check your present firmware identification, also if required download an up to date version of your firmware.

dont use the firmware above - use the firmware at http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/ instead ..

ive flashed about 20 pioneers (several times over as each update comes out) now with the firmware at rpc1.org and its far better than the pioneer firmware as to features

Just in case you haven't done it:

    1. The 104 has to be on a motherboard IDE port, not on a PCI IDE card. Preferably on the second IDE port.

    2. Recommended that it be the only drive on the cable, at the end of the cable and strapped as Master or Cable Select if 80 conductor cable.

I just flashed mine to 1.41 using the download from:

    http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pio/pe/images/portal/cit_3424/30402991DVDR2Xmedia_statement.pdf

The name of the file is:
    2005730DVR04v141.exe

Burn went perfect. Able to burn 4x discs at 2x now with no problem.

    Oh, one other thing.

Mine is a retail purchased A04, not an oem 104.
But the ckrw program says it is a 104.
Don't think it makes a difference but thought you should know.
