    I've just bought one (upgrade from my NEC 1100) - I will let you know when I get it....

    But from the DVD Writer database on the left it scores:

    9.4 (9.8) (20 votes)
    SVCD2DVD v2.5, AVI/MPEG/HDTV/AviSynth/h264->DVD, PAL->NTSC conversion.
    VOB2MPG PRO, Extract mpegs from your DVDs - with you in control!

    No problems at all burning +r and -r. I've burned Ritek 4x dvd+r at 6x, Ritek 4x dvd+rw, cheapie dvd-r media at 4x, has picked up all media I've threw at it. No problems burning cdr's either. Have yet to try any 8x media. Very pleased with this burner!!!
